Yoke

Marilah kepadaku yang lelah dan berbeban berat.

Dari sekian banyaknya ayat di Alkitab, kalimat ini menghiasi arch katedral, dibaca oleh semua Katolik taat dan Katolik dadakan di musim Paskah.

Come to me, all you who labor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Dari sekian banyaknya ayat di Alkitab, kalimat ini mengawali hari gue.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Yoke?

Apa sih yoke?

Yoke (n) : a wooden bar or frame by which two draft animals (as oxen) are joined at the heads or necks for working together

Kalau berdua, lebih ringan.

Yoke (n) : an arched device formerly laid on the neck of a defeated person.

Karena berdua butuh kerendahan hati.

Yoke (n) : a frame fitted to a person's shoulders to carry a load in two equal portions

Karena berdua harus berbagi.

Yoke (plural) : two animals yoked or worked together

Mungkin benar berdua lebih baik.

a (1) : an oppressive agency (2) : servitude, bondage
b : tie, link; especially : marriage

Hueh? Mendingan sendiri deh.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Berdua lebih baik.
